CHRISTMAS!!! The season of giving, getting and jollity. I like to think this is the second Holiday that we do the most cooking and my favorite eating. There are many generic things we would see at Christmas and many other holidays. Sugar cookies are a fun and easy way to make the holidays a little sweetness to the holidays. Many people first choice of meet is a delicious honey roasted ham; however, I doubt that many people have seen a Yule log cake. Maybe you have seen one you just didn't know what it was called ( if you have seen a Little Debbie Swedish Roll then you get the concept).
The Yule Lg Cake also known as bûche de Noël in french is a christmas dessert normally eaten in France, Quebec. That's just a little history if you wanted to know. A traditional cake is made with chocolate filled with raspberry jam. I recently found a recipe( on joy of baking.com) that was fairly simple and looked very appetizing.
First as always make sure you have all your ingredients and utensils needed for this project. These are the following thing you will need,
1/4 cup plus 2 tablespoons granulated white sugar
6 large eggs, separated
1/2 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
4 ounces of bitter or semi sweet chocolate, chopped in small pieces
3/4 teaspoon cream of tartar
Make sure to mix all dry ingredients then the wet. The oven should have already been preheated to 350 degrees so now all you have to do is stick the cake in for 15 to 17 minutes or until its spongy to the touch.
Now time for the chocolate whipped cream. YAY!
1 cup heavy whipping cream
1/2 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
3 tablespoon granulated white sugar
2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
this cake should look similar to the one above and taste just as good. Thanks for reading.
